Apocalyptic sky/laser beams fire overhead/the grinding of metal/’cover your ears from the machines callous roar lad’/lampposts make for enemy eyes/key cards enclose the inhabitants/night by night/the war goes on//
Illuminations cut the night sky to death/magnetic clouds appear overheard threatening to do their worst/the scream of man becomes as common as a bomb falling/the survival rate freezes and then smashes under the pressure/the war goes on//
Football pitches convert to battle trenches/kitchen appliances become makeshift weapons in the battle to breathe/the bleeping pulse of the rusting enemy/walking torturous hard drives ready to strike/night by night/the war goes on//
When there is no room in heaven, the dead shall appear as a storm on the horizon and there is a storm that surrounds us//
Goodbye civilisation//
The war goes on//
