Growing CynicalWolves came through the radio
Howling statics gold,
Barking like a chat show host
Playing songs of the cold.
Vampires collude television sets
Romancing your eyes,
Chunks torn from your hand and neck
Soul evacuates in-between your thighs.
Zombies conduct railroad tracks
Solving queries with moans,
I'm losing touch with all mankind
The more I grow old.
A Kingdom In The SandThe thunderclap crack of waves
Masquerades of liquid armies invading
The every grain of stone shard sand
And the essence of our souls.
Our shadows once danced over
The multigrain colour of the beach
We were the Romeo and Juliet
Of a sand Atlantis now broken hearted,
We wander the desolate island alone.
Northern LightHeavy emotions swayed like a mist over the ocean, We sit, empty silhouettes on a golden floor, Watching the tide roll in as the sun slowly submerges beneath our eyelids gaze, The sands of time flick from one polar to the other, Messages in a bottle caressing the tips of waves and lighthouses passing light on the escaping swarms of fish. An exchange of looks, Our souls are in our eyes, Your hair tickles your face in the north eastern wind and your smile brightens the moonlit sky. Our heroes are stars burning the way like a compass but you are the northern light, showing me the way in darkness.
I Have Seen Life Turned UpsideI Have Seen Life Turned Upside Down
I have seen the ice chistled beauties
Of coastline rocks invaded permanently
By the march of a triumphant sea.
I have seen the screaming entrance
As a new born squirms its way into Earth
From the depths of the darkest cave.
I have seen the devil red of the sun
Marking its demise on the inhabitants of the world
Scorching their skin to the colour of blood.
I have seen skyscrapers match the height of pyramids
Piercing clouds before they collapse
Under the weight of the pound.
I have seen knowledge graffiti'd on subway walls
And handed more faith
Than the crisp golden pages of the bible.
I once flipped a turtle on its back
And with the panic of its legs
I understood the importance of life.
Dying In Your SleepPass me through the fading light
I took these pills to help me fly,
To soar like an eagle
To kill like a hawk
To float like a butterfly
In my dying thoughts.
Help me past the needles eye
I fell softly asleep said I was fine,
With blurred vision of angels
Grandeurs of God
I moaned like a martyr
In the heaven above.
Hold my hand through the golden gate
We'd have been early had my love not been late
(In falling asleep).
Just You And MeWe drift like broken unused wood discarded in the sea,
Floating to the end of the page
Just you, Just me.
We carry countless stories like a wreck on the floor of the sea,
A childhood version of Moby Dick
For you, For me.
We share tales of love like bottles bouncing on the sea,
A teenage sweetheart tragedy
Addressed to me.
We swim like dolphins cutting through the sea,
But not in group
Just you, With me.
We attack the coast like a stormy night sea,
Taking on the globe
Just you, And me.
The Routines Of LifeDrip
The bathroom tap sings its melancholy blues
As we wash away the filth of another day,
Mist blankets the room like a spiders web
And we are caught.
...Forever in the routines of life.
The PawnI am your pawn
White and powerless
Stationed in line,
I am your pawn
Lead to my demise.
I am your pawn
Weak and manipulated
Desperate to become your knight,
I am your pawn
Weathered and worn
Unable to reach your side.
I am your pawn
Used and alone
Moved when it was too late,
I am your pawn
Battling against them all
For us I fear, checkmate.
Mind RushMy mind rushes like a
As the sun
my mind fades.
Sleep jumps upon me,
as i d r i f t
into a...dream state.
Sonnet XBlood stained walls surround muffled screams for help,
my shattered arms attempt to move in vain,
I try to scream managing a mere yelp,
Stuck in a room to die, life surely slain.
I release what I believe my last breath,
The beating of my heart slowly dies down,
Patiently awaiting my sudden death,
Just one more lost soul in a dirty town.
I could hear my last seconds ticking by,
A flash of light jump starts my battered heart,
Then she grabbed my hand, looked me in the eye.
leaving hand in hand, given a fresh start.
A promise she would never leave again,
Sparked a twinkle in my eye, a smug grin.
Sonnet VIIIBrush my lips with medicated kisses,
Trace my heart with your love-laden fingers.
Your arm reaches for the sky but misses,
But the hope of grabbing a star lingers.
We have crossed the line from friend to lover,
Filling the sky with carefully made lights,
Images of past, present, future hover,
Reminding me of all the tear filled nights.
Wind brushes through hair, enticing my lips,
You nudge near, whisper secrets in my ears,
Fill my head with dreams of space, rocket ships,
Flying through space, traveling in light years.
Let us go to the moon and see the stars,
Grabbing a handful to store in glass jars.
Read It and Weep:Theme Series2Intuition
A mind plays tricks,
Just for the kicks.
Clouds do form,
Igniting a storm.
If you listen you learn,
For knowledge I yearn.
Knowing without efforts a gift,
Seeing the future tears in space a rift.
My mind burns with desire,
To prove I am no liar.
The sun now breaks free,
Killing the storm we could see.
I said my share, now its your turn,
Bring us hope, not our hope spurn.
Sonnet IXOld crumpled photographs cover the floor,
Serving as portals into our aged minds,
Glimpses of love, pain, and a heart which tore,
A heart still shattered to bits, one that pines.
Our cold, icy forced breaths fog glass windows,
As your dry lips struggle to meet my own,
Finally making ends meet, my heart froze,
Your kiss fills in the pieces, a heart sewn.
You once promised me the world would be mine,
In hopes it was enough to keep me here,
With you in my arms we will be just fine,
You are my world, left with nothing to fear.
As our bodies grow warm, the night goes by,
Take my hand, stare with me into the sky.
RootedI used to run in fear.
Fear of commitment.
Fear of inflicting pain.
Fear of being the one hurt.
I now stand firm in place.
Like a tree's r
in the worn ground.
Now and Then:New Series 1You drown me with your anguish,
Suffocated by your guilt-ridden lies.
Truth is too much for you to handle,
You never were more than a coward.
I know Im nowhere near perfect,
My flaws are easily spotted.
But look in the mirror for yourself,
Youve always been a hypocrite.
Change is something I fear most,
Yet I welcome it with open arms.
Youre not going to outrun it,
I cant believe you are so foolish.
We use to walk through the park,
And skip rocks across the water.
We would splash in puddles, tell secrets,
But now I dont even know you.
Ignorance is no longer bliss,
You havent learned from your mistakes.
How many more hearts will you shatter,
Before you realize you dont have to be alone.
