Planet Of The Apes by ~Broadcraig:iconBroadcraig:

Skyscrapers covered in whip fast web
Mannequins pressing pins on a freshly made dress,
Food in the form of glued turtle shell
Roads bending only to hell
This may come tomorrow; But how can you tell?

Scraps in a supermarket selling only trees
The crown in china town belongs to the monkeys,
Bullies in the shape of shadows
Harrowing down on the youth of the free
This may come tomorrow; But will you be ready?

Schools with chains not desks
Teachers on sports day clutching venomous death threats,
Lights with a black tinted red
No-where to hide in this world; Animal led
This may come tomorrow; But what path will you tread?

If you're not already dead...

I took inspiration from things like planet of the apes. I had an image of animals ruling the world, at the same time, i had some macabre horror image of this dusty city with all the things we'd created coming back to life and mankind having to live by doing and eating things we hated whilst trying to survive against these creatures. In every stanza there is a hint of what already is, or what is very near to being in terms of negativity towards the world. This is quite anti-man, man versus nature, man verses animal and also touches on my thoughts on education in a way.

This once again has rhyming couplets and an obvious structure. I'm doing a couple pieces like this and then i'm going to move onto something fresh.

So I hope you enjoy!

yes, very true, how is there any way to know? our goal should be to become ready for anything life may throw at us. we've failed in the past when it comes to natural disasters, so we need to step it up some. animals are smarter it seems. at least they know to run and hide before a storm hits!

If it's good enough to take to your psychiatrist, it's good enough to make a song of.~Paul McCartney

Being voted the world's sexiest vegetarian is about as cool as it gets. It's not quite as cool as Brad Pitt, but it'll do.~Chris Martin

... yea i never did understand poetry.

i like the pictures and the ideas but i dont get the "obvious structure" part of it.

i just kinda write whatever works.

thats probably why what ever i write is REALLY bad.

It'sreally well written poem. It sounds like the most corrupt, twisted world that may become a reality as everyone starts to loose control of things. It's a dreaded possibility that hope not to be apart of.
