The moth like feel of the plantation inside dead man's lane,
I am not afraid.

The blood red murder of the outside blossoming flower inside dead man's lane,
I am not afraid.

The smoke like fog covers the frayed and blacks out my way in dead man's lane,
I am not afraid.

The dirty liquor of the killer under the cover of trees with no lover's in dead man's lane,
I am not afraid; (To die),
I just wish to feel alive.

We spend too long feeling afraid. I want to feel afraid if it means feeling alive. This is about those scary dark lanes that we refuse to walk down.

To be fair a lot of what we do is governed by fear.

You can't always get what you want.
:iconbroadcraig:
It depends on whether you avoid what you fear or whether you do it anyway. I am afraid of heights, i still climb up things and think "shit how do I get down?!"

Sometimes fear can give us the greatest strength which we have ever known that we could posses. Like you said, you still climb up tall things and wonder how you are going to get down. Well, isn't it obvious that you ARE down? Unless you are somewhere high up in a tree? Either way, I agree that you should not fear what you are surrounded by unless being afraid is going to help you live to tell about the situation.

Well, I think with most things, common place comes into play. But lanes that are dark and have urban myths behind them aren't exactly scary and aren't necessarily dangerous. Sometimes, when you put fear aside and jump into a situation, you find out things about yourself you'd never of known otherwise!

I very much concur, but if you were in a downtown setting and a dark back alley faced you, would you risk your safety? I know that where I live, I would not think twice about taking a back road, except for the animals that is! Yes putting your fears aside can set you up for a safe ending, but if you trust too much on just ignoring them, one day they will be there to knock you back into your senses, and you will be faced with those fears. It's all about your personality. Every person is different.

You sound like me. I learned how to swim and row despite a morbid fear of water. :)
